April 7th

Today I am excited, because June 16-23 I get to go to Florida with my girlfriend! We are going to drive down there and stay at some timeshare that her family has but never uses. It is only going to cost each of us $600, so I can just pick up a shift at work for two weeks and pay for the whole thing in cash. We are going to go to Wet and Wild and Islands of Adventure. I am also excited because this means I dont have to work for a whole week. So that is just about all I have been thinking about all weekend, is looking forward to going to FL. (Not Forest Lake, my hometown, the state of Florida.) I had a productive weekend of working and made about $800 this weekend, so that is a plus.

April 2nd- Update on Lisa

Lisa is finally home, and is doing well. She is resting now, and not going back to work until next week. To repair the hole that the doctors found in her heart is going to require open heart surgery. The cost of this procedure is $120,000 and currently the insurance company is saying that they will not cover it. They are claiming that open heart surgery is an elective surgery that is not covered by her insurance. The alternatives to the surgery is a research group testing new equipment, but the chances of something seriously going wrong is one in two participants. However, this surgery is using the newest technology, and will only cost $30,000. So we are in a bit of a situation trying to figure out what to do... The only other option is waiting until she has a second stroke, in which case the insurance company will pay for the surgery. The only problem with this is that the next stroke may be more serious, and could leave her permanently disabled if it affects certain parts of the brain.

March 31st- Weekend Sadness

This weekend, my girlfriend's mom, Lisa had a stroke. It happened on Saturday after she got off of work, laying on the couch. I was at work when I got the call, but had to continue work because I am the manager and could not leave. I consider Lisa as family, and spend more time with her than I do my own mother. She is still hospitalized at the U of M hospital, but I just found out they are going to release her tonight. Unfortunately, it turns out that she has a hole in her heart that will require open heart surgery. We are still not sure on what day she will go in for her surgery... This weekend went by in a blur, as I was working then at Ashley's house, then working, then back at their house. I only got to sleep a total of two, maybe three hours this entire weekend because of the events. I am hoping she will be ok, and the surgery will go well.

February 27th

Not really sure what to talk about today, no angry rants, no girlfriend issues, no school issues, etc. Ashley ordered some of her police equipment from Streichers that she needs for her meeting this Saturday, and it never came, and the order never was processed. That is a slight issue that we need to resolve, probably have to drive to their warehouse in Apple Valley tomorrow which will be a pain in the butt. However, it is something that will need to be done, because if she does not have it by Saturday she will get in trouble with the FLPD. Oh well, it is on my way back to Forest Lake I guess.

February 25th Yet another angry rant.

So on Thursday the parking services gave me a ticket for being parked in a traffic lane. First of all, I parked my car on Tuesday when it was snowing, so I could not see the lines on the pavement. Second, My car was only over the line by a foot, and I got a $25 ticket for parking in a traffic lane. I was not parked in a traffic lane, I was parked over my line, but at any rate, this is not what really ticks me off. What made me really angry is that on Tuesday and Wednesday when there was snow on the ground I did not get a ticket, but then Thursday comes and the snow melts... ticket. Then to make things worse, not only did I get that ticket at 11:20 am on Thursday, at 12:45 pm the parking services came by a second time and gave me a second ticket for the same offense. I came out to my car and found two $25 tickets on my windshield and they were unwilling to help me out and at least dismiss one of them. How the h*** can you ticket someone twice for the same violation on the same day? That would be like a police officer giving you a speeding ticket for 60 in a 55, and then giving you a ticket for 59, 58, 57, and 56, because they occured slightly later than the original violation as you were slowing down. Why would they even think that it is appropriate to give someone two tickets for the same violation? Really? Are you serious? You are going to ticket me for being a foot over a line, which did not affect a single person all week it was there, just because you can? Whole bunch of Police Academy dropouts with nothing better to do with their time, going on a power trip to f*** someone else over.

February 20th Another angry rant of the day

My Community Advisor Dennis is probably one of the most irresponsible, loud, obnoxious, moronic person that I currently know. So three nights ago he went out drinking with some friends, and came back to campus absolutly drunk as all hell. He was loud, obnoxious, and rude to people, before the Complex Director Matt Burns caught him. Matt was absolutley angry and fired Dennis as a CA. So then two nights ago, Dennis was drunk and loud with his door open until 3:30am. I could not sleep because of how loud he was being, so I complained to him. What happens? He says that even if he were a CA still he would not do anything about it. What makes me even more angry now is that the board of directors is actually giving him the chance at an appeal of Matt's decision. I want him out of my residence hall now!!!! This is not the first time that he has caused problems on my floor, with noise complaints, and alcohol/drug related issues. As a CA, his job should be to enforce the rules fairly with everyone including himself, not be immune to campus regulations. If his appeal succeeds, I will be filing a complaint with Matt Burns to try and get him removed from the campus anyways.

February 18th

Well, Valentine's Day was pretty good. I had a nice night out away from work with Ashley. We went to the Olive Garden and had a good dinner. Long story short, now we are dating, which is causing a lot of old issues to flare up with our exs. My ex-girlfriend is all upset and sad that I have moved on and found someone new. Her ex-boyfriend is angry that she is dating me, and is telling people that they are dating again, even though they broke up six months ago. Drama filled weekend at work too. Had three people not show up for work yesterday, so I was kind of angry about that. I had to work really hard as the manager just to keep up with the customer's orders and get the deliveries out the door. Then I love it when people call outside of the delivery zone and are angry and yell that we won't take it to them when we are busy.

February 13th

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day! I am pretty excited, I am going to go back home and with Ashley for a wonderful night out. We will have to work until about 7 in the evening, but after that we can go out to dinner and have fun. I got her this awesome heart shaped pendant that has 25 diamonds set into it. I really think it is a cool necklace and I'm hoping she will like it too. This should be a pretty good weekend, other than that I will end up working for probably close to 50 hours. That is the trouble with having two jobs though I guess, having to work double shifts back to back. For about a month now I have worked from 7 am to 11 pm every Saturday and Sunday. Plus I work on Friday and Monday mornings too, so it ends up on average 42 hours. This weekend though I will have to work an extra shift because of the busier Valentine's Day season.

On a seperate note, I am now admitted to Metropolitan State University for the fall semester 2008. I finally got fed up with their e-services page and just picked up the phone and talked to the dean of admissions. She told me that based on my current progress here at MSU and at the U of M I am admitted. This is going to be great, I can work more, see Ashley more, have more time for studying, etc. In addition to this, I will be closer to the Minneapolis Police Department, so I will have a better chance of getting a job with them since they recruit out of Metro.

February 4

Today is the 4th of February, and I am extremely tired. I worked this weekend, a total of 46 hours between Friday and Sunday. I woke up on Friday morning and went to work at 6:00 am, worked until 5:00 pm, then went and helped my other work out until around 9:00 pm. Then on SATURDAY, I left for work at 6:00 am, and worked until 1:30 am SUNDAY. I put in 19 hours in that shift alone. Went home, went to bed at 2:30 am, got up at 6:00 am, and then worked again until 11:00 pm. I only got to sleep like 3-4 hours a night this weekend, so I am not wanting to be awake today. I am so tired, I almost could not make the two hour drive to get to school today.

On a seperate note, I am going on vacation with Ashley this summer, so that will be cool. We are thinking Florida, because she has a time share that would let us go for only like $160 a person for three nights, four days. The time share lets us go anywhere really, so Mexico would only be like another $40 a person. I am really looking forward to this, because I have not had a week off of work for three years. I have not even had a weekend off for over a year.

My rant of the day

OK, so Metropolitan State is really starting to get on my nerves. First they said they needed official transcripts, now they say since it is all part of the MNSCU system they already have them. Then it says I don't have enough credits to transfer, when you need 16. Guess what? I have 25 credits, is that not more than 16? Next, it says that I do not meet the minimum GPA for transfer of 2.0 or higher. Guess what again? My GPA is 4.0 here at MNSU, and was 3.67 when I went to the U of M. Even combined average is still more than 2.0 last time I checked. Finally, all of their customer service representatives are all completely incompetent. "I don't know why it would say that." Is that seriously the best answer you can come up with? Are you going to check and find out why I am getting these errors or try to fix them? Well the answer is, no they won't try to fix them or try and figure out why.

January 23rd

So this is my first class of the week, I have been really really bored since Monday. My Criminal Investigations class was cancelled yesterday, and I was kind of looking forward to going. I like that class, it is just like a real life CSI show. I guess it was kind of nice though, not having to go to my four hour biology lecture/lab on Monday night. Like I said though, it has been a boring week so far, and I am just glad that I finally have something to do.

I have just finished getting my applications done for my transfer next year to Metropolitan State University. I am kind of excited about that, because I will be 80 miles closer to work and friends. Speaking of work, I also made PIC (Person in Charge) at work this weekend and got a raise to $9 an hour plus tips and my 5% commission. So now I am stuck at work though on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, so long 16 hour work days on weekends.

Favorite Song

My favorite song to listen to is the 3 Doors Down song, Here Without You. My best friend Ashley lives back in Forest Lake, MN, so this song kind of is the song I listen to when we are apart. This song is important to me, and I really enjoy it and almost all the other music done by 3 Doors Down. I also like music by Nickelback, 3 Days Grace and Simple Plan. These are probably the 4 bands that I listen to most often.
